Welcome to the UK Coaching Certificate website
Please
be aware that the UKCC website is currently under-going a review and
subsequent re-structure, we hope to have this completed shortly.
Please bear with us whilst we undertake this required improvement to
the website. For those of you who have recently subscribed to the
UKCC newsletter, we will be adding you to our mailing list and you will
receive the next newsletter during the early summer of 2007.
Whilst we undertake this review, any information regarding
the UKCC will be posted on the sports coach UK website www.sportscoachuk.org within the Investing in Coaching section. If you have any queries regarding this please email ukcc@sportscoachuk.org
The
UK Coaching Certificate is an initiative to endorse coach education
programmes, across sports within the UK, against agreed criteria
including:
- the endorsement of the coaching qualification a coach will take
- the development of appropriate resources to deliver effective and high quality coach education programmes
- quality assured administration and management structure of coach education provision provided by sports
- quality assured training provision of coach education programmes
This
means that if you take a coaching qualification that is endorsed by the
UKCC, you can be confident that you’re on the way to coaching success!

Previously known as the National Coaching Certificate (NCC), Rt Hon Richard Caborn MP,
Minister for Sport & Tourism said: "The official title, UK Coaching
Certificate (UKCC), was chosen after consultation with governing bodies
of sports in the home countries. Although one agency, sports coach UK,
is tasked with development, it has been vital to make the process
consultative and inclusive, seeking the input of all stakeholders. The
name ‘UK Coaching Certificate’ reinforces the need for organisations in
the four countries to work together in the context of their individual
sport. It also enables better international positioning of the UK as a
nation at the forefront of coaching development. |
